Consumer Rights and Information

In Canada, you have a number of rights when it comes to repairing your vehicle after a collision. The first of these rights is your right to choose a facility. In short, the final say about where you get a vehicle repaired is up to you.

You also have rights regarding parts and materials. If any parts are replaced, you can have your old parts returned to you, if you like.

There are other things that you may want to keep in mind when choosing a repair facility, such as what training programs it’s staff have completed, the certifications a shop may hold, whether they are certified by some OEMs, and if they are a part of a repair network.

Finally, public and private insurance policies are available in Canada depending on where you live. They provide the same kind of coverage, but in slightly different ways.
